The number of posts currently in my Reader...and counting.

Work is incredibly crazy this week (we're spring-cleaning the office; doesn't that sound like fun?), and on top of it, Sylvia is here with me in the afternoons. By the time I finish my parental duties at night, all I want to do is crash.

So this is that ubiquitous post, apologizing for all the non-comments you've been getting from me lately, and to say not to expect much more this week. And maybe next week as well.

Oh, and at home, my computer was telling me my virtual memory is low...which is ironic, considering I just removed all the non-essential programs this past weekend. Any clues on how to get my computer's memory back are welcome! (I think it's just been hanging out with me too long.)

Thinking of you, missing you while I file away...

You need to increase the page file size. Right click on "my computer", choose "properties". Once in properties go to the advanced tab. There should be an option for "performance" and a button that says "settings". Once in that, go to the advanced tab on that dialogue box and at the bottom there should be an option for virtual memory and options to change it. I bet that made no sense at all, huh? Well, I hope it helps at least a little.

Run a defrag program. If you just finished uninstalling nonessential stuff you have small bits and pieces of your memory scattered to the wind, as it were. Run a defrag and it should help consolidate all of the free space.

I've been slacking too. I got my count down from 200+ to 15 since last night. Woot Woot!

YIKES! I had similar "unread posts" issues after The Ultimate Blog party and just about had a nervous breakdown. I ended up removing a lot of feeds. Now, things are much more manageable. But if you don't have the time in the first place, I suppose the numbers will creep up on you anyway!

I just did a major spring cleaning of my reader and took out half of the feeds in there. My count was over 600...can you believe that??

It is amazing how quickly that reader fills up! I think it's damn near impossible to keep up with it.

My old standby with the computer is the defrag (as mentioned) and disk cleanup. Also - when was the last time you cleaned out your cookies? - it means signing back into all your sites but it can help your computer run better, I clean out the cookies daily and defrag and cleanup once a week.

April - mark 'em all "as read" and move on! You've got enough on your plate. HUGE hugs!

Yeah, I have maybe 5 people in my reader, so have no problems keeping up. And I have no idea what to tell you about the whole memory thing, so hope someone else's ideas work. :)

I just wrote a quick instructional post about increasing your Virtual Memory (or increasing your Paging File). Natalie mentioned this fix earlier, but I thought you might make use of my post... Here's the

Am I the only one who doesn't use a reader? I bet it could make my life a lot easier..., but it might also freak me out and make me anxious if I had a number like that in it.

Take care, babe. Thinking of you.
