Seriously, April! You are a GREAT mom! And your girls ARE old enough to be left alone to eat their burgers - and more, and for longer. I really can't stand the "helicopter" parents. That sort of thing will never teach our children independence or how to be self-sufficient in any way. I think it does our children a complete dis-service.

Of course, that being said, we as parents HAVE to use our best judgment as to when our children are "old enough" for that sort of thing - and it will be different in each situation.operapixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08762574180453362710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4211674678201251588.post-63499768157509791182011-07-26T08:05:20.016-07:002011-07-26T08:05:20.016-07:00April!!! We really are in a position of "damned if we do and damned if we dont" though - too many people so quick to judge.MindyMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01103345017455083144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4211674678201251588.post-16998305826593007702011-07-25T08:16:55.711-07:002011-07-25T08:16:55.711-07:00Oh you're doing great! Part of being a great parent is taking care of self and job, which you blend beautifully.

I'm hoping this week is less stressful for you -

MissyMissy Junehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09020559836786005693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4211674678201251588.post-73343409808319676752011-07-25T05:06:33.197-07:002011-07-25T05:06:33.197-07:00I do that #3 a lot. But perceived is the right word.

As for most of the "perceived" parenting issues that bring judgment by others, they don't necessarily know what stresses we're under, or all the things we're juggling.

We do the best we can, right?

(And our kids are fine. It isn't a perfect world, and we do them no favors by pretending that it is.)BigLittleWolfhttp://dailyplateofcrazy.comnoreply@blogger.com
